Wodige Digatoli and I Awanita, thought we would share with you a few things about our Equa Vdali this is our home Big Lake. We call it the big lake rez. lol it was established Aug 12th 2012. We have had a population of 7 which include Awanita (me Young deer), Wodige Digatoli (Jessica Brown eyes), Wesa(our cat, called cat) she decided that she didn't need to be around the dogs so she went to kitty college.LOL. Selu, our boy (one of the twin brother pups who passed very young), Selu mean corn and of course there is his brother Gadu. Anyone want to guess what Gadu means in Tsalagi? Vv you guessed it means Bread so, we had the twin boys Selu and Gadu Corn bread. Yes I guess we are kinda silly but it is our little family.
Well after Selu passed little Gadu got lonely and we had another pup to come up but wouldn't stay so we didn't add her to the family plack...haha her name was goldie or golden one which is in Cherokee Dalonigesdodi. After she left we came across a cute little boxer that took up with Gadu....and As a man and husband you can not tell your wife NO or TLA. Well you can but you probably will change your mind so I did the right thing and said "oh yes my love you can have another puppy, I was just thinking how lonely it was with only one dog and one cat." So comes the second to the newest of our four footed children, Tuya.
Tuya in Cherokee means Beans, so now we have Cat, Corn, Bread and beans. Once Cat left the Wodige Digatoli was sad, even with the new edition of Beans. One day Unequa the great spirit, sends another cat, no really he did. She emailed me and told me. She was sitting on the front porch and this momma cat comes by with 5 to 6 babies waddling behind her and one, one mind you.....lead by the Unequa of course picked our long house and us to be its new parents.
He is very cute only has half of a tail and is about 4 months now. Oh and by the way he caught his first Tsisdetsi...hahaha He was so proud of catching that mouse he had to show us...and played with his trophy. Oh what did we name him...I almost for got to tell you Diliyo. DEE LEE YOH it means Socks, he has white socks, but get this he also has a white streak down his face and nose that make him look lik a skunk. Want to know somthing interesting. Yes I think Unequa had a hand in even naming him. If you take the Yo off of Diliyo you have Dili which means Skunk in Cherokee....so when he is being a poot I just call him Dili. Hahah.
I hope you enjoyed the little story about our family yard sign it is written in phonics and Cherokee, Let me translate without the story now so you may see the meaning.
