Yes we as the people of this nation make more of a demand for mass tranportation system in our country.
it could create a new strong part for our economy in the development stage and building and maintanence of such a system
this is somthing all of the people shold make a demand of until they listen.

I was on the PowWows.com site and noticed a post by between2worlds, by the way good picture of you, about if there is anything we can do as a group to get gas prices down, a petition was suggested. I though that a form letter composed and sent to members to send to their senators and congressmen or women would be appropriate. Any other ideas? Yeah, tell our elected officials to start looking for new jobs in the private sector! Remember, they *gave* the Oil Companies perks and incentives of all kinds (what was it that they gave them just this past year that the Oil Rep snobbishly said that they don't really care whether they get it or not right after it was handed to them??!!!) I wrote my Reps and told them that they needed to rescend that perk as in yesterday! They didn't. Prices went up - oh! then Katrina became the problem because they have all those refineries right there! Ok, we have a problem with Oil Companies. We need to find NEW technology that gets around using oil. We've known that since the 50s when the first occurence of nastiness came from the Middle East Oil Czars. We really knew it when we went through a recession in the 70s. More problems in the 80s and 90s. But the Oil Companies went out of their way to say it wasn't their fault... while purchasing the patents to all inventions that would avoid using their products. Welll... actually, they were purchased by the Big 4 Automakers in Detroit. You watch - the price of oil will be going down between now and Thanksgiving, then back up again. Watch what happens at and after the elections. And, please remember... you heard it here first!

No I am talking about Petro as the Euros refer to it, I know even at $3.00 a gallon we still are the cheapest gas in the world. Europe sells gas by the liter and it takes about 3 plus liters to make a gallon. I still think alternative energy is the way to go and we need to become less dependent on fossil fuels.
