Wow! White Eagle, I had bought from a shop in California once, a pipe with the same antler bowl like yours (except bowl also antler). It was supposed to have been made by a medicine man, I think Dakotas (not sure). I gave mine to a friend from the Miami tribe because he liked it. Yours is so much nicer, really looks great!

Wado for kind words! I just found that without dyed wood color, leather and beadwork from Cherokee Heritage Center Museum Store in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I asked the Cherokee dealer "Is that made by real Cherokee?" He told me his full-blooded Cherokee man self employee made that and selling to the customers. www.CherokeeHeritage.orgAnnette said that is for any Cherokee Tribes and friends to meetings or visiting. It is not for Medicine Man or Sacred Peace Pipe only BUT they can be used for. Annette told me she made my own Cherokee design is for me only. That Eagle beadwork with color means "White Eagle", that's for my Ceremony Indian name. Nobody can borrow or buy it from me forever BUT I will give them to my real nephew Anthony in Will when I die in the future.

I have gold buckskin only. Should it be dyed a color? My artist paints will work on buckskin as it is my special mixture of gel medium, paint, and varnish to make the paint. There is a primer mixture I could use first, my own for on wood or canvas.

Yep, your Golden leather can be dyed any color. The most Cherokees used light & Golden and darkest brown leathers on the Peace Pipe, Tomahawk Axe, Bow, Arrow spear, walking Staff, Shield, carry Medicine bag, necklace Medicine bag and others. Hope you can figure out where you put leather work on the Tomahawk Peace Pipe handle stick. I have heard few Cherokee Tribes use without leather and bead work on the Tomahawk Peace Pipe and they painted on it, like yours. I have seen that in my local Native American Store called www.eagledancergallery.com last about 8 years ago. I'll be back by tomorrow, the huge thunderstorm is coming here and knocked the power lines down!

White Eagle, glad to see some Cherokees use the Tomahawk Peace Pipe and have done like me, painted on it. This will be the last time on computer, until I return from our family reunion out East. Should be back by Monday.
I had some ideas, maybe they are good ones. First must cut the stem at the brass ring, so can be separated when not smoking. Would have been easier before painted. Have some round carved shell beads from when staying in California back in 1989-90. Also 3 black, 3 orange (fancy with design) Crow beads. From a time used to have fishing fly tying hobby, many sizes, colors, of feathers (saddle hackles, fluff down called marabou), some necks, dyed Deer tails, Rabbit fur strips. Need to use some up, have plenty. And a roll of gold and dark brown leather strips also.
Must get ready for the trip now...
