Originally the bone choker was worn by warriors in battle to protect their necks. Since most tribes did not have the women fight it was not acceptable for women to wear bone chokers, however this is one of the "old ways" I do not follow, I really like them and since my throat has already been cut by the Doctor and I have a good scar the choker will cover the scar. There were some tribes such as the Lakota that did have Women Warriors but I'm not sure if they were allowed to wear the chokers. Their dress was different from the other women as they rode into battle, my tribe the Huron while usually they did not have many horses, after they moved down from Canada they had women horsewomen and their regalia was very different, any other input on this will be appreciated!! Oh by the way Canada came from the Huron word Kanta meaning settlement or village. AHO my brothers and sisters
