I tend to buy stones in bulk...better prices, but end up with too much of certain stones, crystals.
I live where glaciers dumped a lot of pink granites. I don't have any use for them. My Mom likes them in flower beds. Then there is literally tons of glaucophane also...a sodium amphibole, which is a form of aluminum silicate. It is too cold and frozen to collect rocks outside right now.

Yeah!!!! Let the trading begin!
I agree that winter is not a time to collect most stones.
I still need to unpack boxes that I have not even seen into since I moved here two years ago ....after our Winter Holidays (I celebrate Christmas, as I am of mixed origin)....
After the new year, I will post some pictures of extra rocks for trade that I have already collected, and some Native beads from Arizona that were painted by tribes there. (A friend visited and bought me TONS of those).
Spring time I plan to visit some sites and collect more. I will be sure to offer up some samples of items then, too. I will also try to include any documentation about the types of stones and whatever else I can include about them (location found, use of them in Native ceremonies of history, etc.)
The idea for this thread was that members PM each other, and then decide what is a fair trade, and how to trade them. Depending on what is offered and what you feel is fair for the other trader, and yourself. I don't wish for any hard feelings about this.
If a member does not like the trade, then it does not happen. I think we can all be honest, and still expand our rock, gem, and artifact collections so that everyone is happy. Or so is my hope for this trade thread. Please play nice! LOL.
