Does anyone know of a reputable place where you can have a DNA test that will tell you what percentage of Native American you are? I have seen the colour charts. I don't need to have a test to tell me I have native american in my bloodline. I already know that so I think it is pointless paying the money to find out something I already know. I know they can't tell you what tribes you come from or what specific relatives it comes from. I would just like to know what percentage I am does anyone know of a reputable place you can have this done?
Also any advice on good sites to search genealogy would be good especially if anyone here has used a specific site. I found one site that actually has some family pictures of mine on it. I know they are family pictures as I have seen them before. Anyone have any advice I'd really appreciate it.
I've searched family names on a few of the Dawes lists. I don't want to become a part of a tribe or obtain any financial gain from finding out my heritage.
Personally ever since I have found out this was a part of my background it's proven to be more of a burden than a joy researching any of it as it is all so frustrating and difficult to find. The more I read up on it the confused and disgusted I become with the whole thing. I believe my family were some of the ones that managed to escape the reservations so I figure because of this I will never be able to see on any documentation or paper who was native american and who wasn't so as far as any documentation's are concerned my family is white. Funny to look the way I do and be considered white. Funny for the pictures I have seen of my family that they were recorded as white I understand why, but I do not understand why if my family escaped why in the hell you are punished and not legally considered to be or have native american heritage.

anyone ever been there or spoken to that guy? I tried enquiring about names as I will be a father soon. This website reckons they will help you come up with some authentic names. I have emailed them twice and have heard nothing. Glad I didn't give a donation and request any help with names.
The more I look into it the more I am thinking there is no point in considering using a name of this heritage for my child as it's all becoming too stressful and no longer enjoyable trying to find anything out about it.
It would have been much easier just having white heritage.
