Hello and greetings to all. I will go by Cherosage, because I am from Cherokee, Osage, Shawnee and Chicasaw Tribes. My Wife is Lipan Apache. We live in Central MO. I now work for the MO Depart. of Corrections,( I'm a supervisor). I am a Ret. Army Vet., a member of the National Native American Veterans Association(NNAVA). My Wife and I have 4 children( 2 girls and 2 boys), 8 Grandkiddies (2 boys). Our family helps Co-Sponsor a dance in Sedalia MO,(Robert Woolery Sr. Memorial Powwow), which is always in July at the MO State Fairgrounds. I enjoy dancing which as a Straight Dancer( I dance for Pawhuska at our Inlonshka), I Gourd Dance( I was introduced in the Mid-80s), and I enjoy Stomp dancing( I have lead one or two now and then). I will be popping up on here now and then, I work part time for our Sheriff, so I don't have a lot of time. I would be glad to talk to every one that I can. WaDo, Bob.

Thank you for let us know about you. I'm glad you have a great Families/Tribes. My grandfather is one quarter Cherokee blood, he fought North Korean war, Vietnam war and World War II. He died in 1987 of lungs and liver cancer. He was born in Forth Worth, TX and lived in South Korea for many years and moved back to San Antonio, TX for short years, I haven't seen him for a LONG time..... But he visited me few times when I was little and I never forget we had a good time and fishing.

Cherosage! Welcome, welcome welcome it is so great to have you as part of our little family, I am so glad we are able to tear you away from your other duties to spend time with us. Glad to have another vet and Gourd Dancer here, I have been thinking about introducing a thread on gourd dancing but we may just make a new board for dances and then I can start a thread there but I will depend on your input as I am only a woman and only dance in the supportive roll your input will be invaluable, but I am part Kiowa so do know something of the dance and gourd dance at every pow wow I attend. I even gourd danced at Bandera not but 3 months following a double cervical fusion. I was not going to dance on Sunday but the hawk in the tree in front of my tent woke me yelling at me to get up and dance so what else could I do but dance!. We are all very happy to have you with us and look forward to hearing from you often! AHO ;D

Hey there guys, glad to be here and able to talk to everyone. I have gone to other websites and seems as though some of the participants are not very hospitable to all. I notice this especially to those not of NDN blood or very little. They also have a short fuse for folks asking properly, or trying to, how to do things. It isn't necessary to rip people apart if they don't know something or didn't grow up in our cultures. I understand that many NDN families have moved away from their families cultural area. After 1 or 2 generations our kiddies could lose alot of info if not kept in touch. I would like to help those who truely wants to know. Just ask.

cherosage, I saw one of your message postings about Hiram Franklin family. My great great grandmother Syntha Smith was the daughter of Isaac Smith and Catherine Franklin. We have been trying to find our Native American connection. My DNA print test showed that I am 6% Native American. I do not know the name of Hiram's first wife, Catherine's mother. Do you know what tribe they belong to? Look forward to hearing from you. Westcoast my e-mail address is andersfl72@juno.com
