Just as a clarification according to The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Birds: The Caracara is actually a falcon and "This scavenger has probably the most varied diet of any bird of prey. It often accompanies and dominates vultures at fresh kills or carrion and also eats small animals. It is primarily a ground-inhabiting falcon of open prairies; its long legs enable it to walk and run with ease. It is the national emblem of Mexico." FYI

Very good info , I stand corrected. On the same note , I believe that hawks and falcons are of the same family. I have a caracara tail fan and know what their feathers look like. I still think that one feather in White Eagles Pics is a buzzard feather , but anything is possable

I agree that one of his feathers is a vulture feather and yes the hawk and falcon are closely related in the raptor family so you really weren't too far off base. I have many who live near here and roost in the trees by the river. Even though it is late in the year I have also seen a Bald Eagle recently I was troubled at the time and asked him to send my prayer to the Father, I received my answer almost immediately. I was driving so I turned off the radio and already had some sage burning and the answer was as clear as if you and I were speaking to one another, it was amazing. I am very close to animals and their medicine has saved me many times, I listen to them, so many people carry on after seeing a coyote and do not realize what it means. Being a horse and dog trainer maybe I am good at these thing because the Creator has bless me with good animal medicine. AHO
