Hello all,
My mother (White Feather) is taking care of her husband Terry for a month. She spending time with him every whole day from 6:30a.m to 7:30pm and her back is very painful, she just had her back surgery last month. She's lonely, don't wanted to be alone at her home every nights, so my Stepmother Vivian is taking care of her sometimes, also I'm taking care of my real mother sometimes too. I sleep in her back bedroom and she sleep in her Master Bedroom.
Here's her information about Terry from my email:

Today is the best news I've had. I have so many sweet, wonderful, miracle, etc., things I would like to say, but I am so tired tonight so I'll just give you the great facts.
Dr. Nelson, the Neurology doctor came in early this morning and said everything was going great. She said that the Rehabilitation Dept would be taking over now (except of course for the meds, another MRI in a week and another EEG). The EEG is to make sure he is getting the right dosage for the seizures. I have not witnessed one in days.
There is definitely no West Nile Virus. The Infectious Disease doctor said today, that they still "think" it is the herpes simplex encephalitis. There is still one more week for the medication treating that. (Valtrex) (Oh, and they are giving him the pill form now instead of in the IV.) All other spinal fluid tests have come back negative.
They have given him a new medication for the rash caused by one of the first meds given to him. The rash is on his back and it is looking much, much better.
The Rehabilitation Drs evaluated him this afternoon and were going to report their findings to the doctor in charge. He will evaluate their findings and make his decisions for rehab and speech therapy.
He received physical and speech therapy today. They should be moving him to the 4th floor where Rehabilitation is. It will be very tiring and frustrating for him, but I know he is ready to work hard.
My feeling is, that if all goes well, I will be able to take him home in a week. They will let me know if we need a person to come in the house or if we should drive to therapy.
The therapist at Hermann told me that anyone wanting to visit him should call the hospital early in the morning to get the therapy schedule. Usually it is finished by 3:30 p.m. If he is in a private room there is no specific visiting hours, however, he will tire easily and will probably retire by 9:00 p.m. or earlier. Just use your own judgment. We just want him rested and well.
Ok, I know the grammar, etc. is not correct, but like I said, I'm tired. I have a list of all meds if anyone wants to know.
Lots of love to all our friends and our two families.
Bev
