interesting..very interesting.. as a child my uncles and both grandfathers were all lead miners. They all used to bring out small bits of crystal and I still have some of them. (my father was a miner too but he left the mines right before Korea started).
But..why I am posting is that in one of the books on the cherokee I saw a reference to the holy crystal (or something like that) how it was kept in a deer hide and brought out only at special times. apparently quartz was rather spiritually important to the ancient cherokee..does anyone know about this?

From what I've read about the Cherokees in the Southeast...it has been said that there are some crystals, which where considered so sacred...that only certain trained people and Medicine men should use them. It was believed these crystals were so holy, if an untrained person used them, it could result in death.
Of all the crystals I've ever seen (including photos), the one in the above photos, is the most sacred of them all. The only way I've used the crystal so far, is in healing ceremonies.
Quartz crystals in general represented to the Cherokees "The Rainbow" and 7 prismatic colors, the "Star People" also. ;D

Wow. Really nice Quartz crystal. I have some quartz, but none like that. Yes, they are nice. Buying a couple lbs. of crystals from the right source might hold a beautiful surprise, like the huge multi-triangular surface crystal above.

Crystals hold alot of power, I grew up learning to use them from my mom, I've used them twice now to predict the gender of my children accurately before the doctors could tell us

I just started on a venture of studying crystals, gem stones, and natural herbs for healing.. I really don't like taking pills or medicines from the doctor not to mention i don't go to the doctor lol but the herb remedies is something my mom raised me with and I think it would be alot healthier lifestyle.. Also my mom predicted my baby boy with a crystal before the doctors could with an ultra sound and I used the same procedure on my wife this with our new baby time and predicted the gender and ultra sound still can't so I'm just waiting on it to be concerned but that will be it working accurately 2 times in a row so that has inspired me to learning the powers behind crystals and minerals.. So anything anybody wants to share id love to hear it

I like to have a larger quartz crystal placed on top, of a piece of lava rock (red Arizona desert type) for focus, in front of me when offering prayers.
