Voice of a Stone
I am reddish brown in color and I have six sides. I have traveled many years and have seen many things. The person who carries me will know the needs of others. They will be selfless and trusted by many. They will be sincere in their day to day life.
I carry with me a brown bear and cub, Someone needs to teach a young one. I carry a man and woman deeply in love. I carry an elder with black framed glasses, Who dances hard for his people.
The person who carries me will learn to look at both sides, To make fair judgements. I can help you to move forward in your life. I do not know who should carry me, But hope they will be touched by my words.

There are graphic borders for writers, supplied in some printing programs, think the words really could stand out.

When I get time, I'll have to get out a couple to show you. They are used to put poetry on for printing or on the Internet. It is something like a card, but is more around the edges, leaving a blank area not decorated for text.

There wasn't much for Native American borders, but seems to be plenty of other types, such as flowers. Had to pick the one looks best, then a font that could be read after putting on the image. Takes time to do all that, there are backgrounds for some things, especially flowers. This plate is more of a border than background.

I noticed a space on the right, a good place to put something else. Here is what finished looks like, done in Paint Shop Pro software & Micrografx Picture Publisher. Original graphics came from Printmaster Gold 8.0.

Tried putting the plate on to a sunset photo, one I took in the SW desert (my vacation trip). Had to fix the 2 side edges, but here is before finishing it (size reduced).

Looking at the top text "Native American" and the bottom "Pipe Dreams" it was obvious, there had to be a separation. Might be more could be done, not sure yet just what.

Wow!! That's pretty cool! It's too big when you click to enlarge it, can you do anything about that? Thank you, makes my poem look so different!

There are scroll bars both vertical and horizonal, on your web browser. I posted large because, image wasn't finished, you need to work large first for quality, then reduce size later for posting. For making graphics, the more words, the smaller the text looks, making it harder to read. This one might have been better as a small printed poster for on the wall.
Here is a smaller size image, it was reduced from 2596 x 3465 pixels, a larger size (still keep both in computer).

Oh, did you write this poem? I put By Stands Alone at the bottom....if not, will have to remove and put the right name on it. This might be useful as a tutorial on developing a poem graphic, later sticky it to the top. I saved all the different images used, each step of the way. All that would be needed, explain what was done to create the finished work.
But then again, if you put every detail of how it's done, somebody (who isn't Native American) could steal that info for personal gain.

Yes I did write this! I usually put the author's name if it isn't my work! I hope no one sells things I write

I was under the impression that you wrote this one. I meant people could take info on creating a graphic like in the thread here. I would hope nobody would take your poetry, it does have your name on it and the thread here, shows who is the real author. You can take the photo to post on other sites. I will need to make a smaller version for posting comments, reduce color saturation a little, size it down for your Photobucket (if you have it). The larger finished photo above, save it to your computer, if you want for posting at other sites.

Uploaded to Photobucket, to see how it looks. Larger size you can read, for posting in forum boards. Small amount of reduction for color saturation, doing this too much will make a photo, look more like monochrome.

Smaller size about the same width, as B-day cards I posted. It is longer, but should be ok for in comments like on MyTribalSpace.

I can still read the poem, even in smaller size, probably because of the font used, plus chisel effect around letters from Paint Shop Pro software.

To make one good for printing out, took the original full color saturation version. Put the large size photo through a graphic 3-D correction, in my Picture Publisher software. See attached print screen photo. It is higher resolution, at 300 ppi prints out about 8 x 11 inches. Printed the photo, but my ink color ink cartridge is on empty. The plate, poem, Proud To Be (text) and eagle turned out sharp, clear except the top edge was missing (to large of photo). I put a link to the large image on my PhotoBucket. i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh216/Lone4eagle/VoiceofaStone-StandsAlone.jpgYou can either print full size borderless on photo paper or print smaller by changing the resolution to higher, in sizing box (360 ppi, 380 ppi, etc.) Don't need to reduce photo quality this way (onlly up the resolution).

For some reason when I downloaded it from PhotoBucket, the size was reduced to 767 x 1024 which is the right maximun size for Internet. I'll try attaching the large size here, see what happens.
Got this message....
Attached file is too large. You may only post files with a maximum size of 1024.0 KB. The file you uploaded was 1263.7 KB.
I'll have to down size it slightly. Now it should print out to fit on inkjet paper, at 300 ppi resolution, length nearly 10" (9.90). Just save it to your computer.
