We don't see any deer around as in other years. The drought conditions here, under a burn ban this whole area. Most years get too much rain, now just the opposite.

It's been pretty dry around here also, I think we only had a few inches of snow through the winter. Makes for allergies to affect me which I normally don't have! Also I thought with not much rain fleas would be really bad as I have three dogs but haven't seen any on them. Few weeks ago had ticks on me that I didn't find any last year on me at all! Ticks are out here too. They must be able to take the hot dry weather.

Hello my new friends! I found your thread while looking around the site. I took this photo this past summer, around probably the same time as your experience. I lived in a log cabin up on a mountain with woods all around me. I've had the privilege of seeing lots of wildlife there, but this was one of the favorite photos I got. The mama actually looks horrible though, she was really thin and had lots of hair loss going on. Perhaps the horrible drought? The fawns were so beautiful. I don't know how to embed the photo here, but here is a link... i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i368/falnangl4u/Untitled-1.jpg

Just put the image url in the proper box in profile edit.
