I'm single after a divorce in 98. lately i just have Been holding my own i have been in my house for 12 years and live in a Mexican neighborhood and i think that is why i stay in Austin i love the ppl here and i am happy also we live with a wolf and her name is jubia and she is five years old , the kids in the homes around us all know her as good as i can do math an 20% native american i have great grand fathers on both side of my family and so i learn what is true and right i learnd Indian, and still learning but tring to follow my spirit alway have, i always know i was part Indian but never try ed other than going to powwow but just being me and did i raise eye browse or two lol but i was always treated right and i think the ppl saw something in me there at powwow, and i use to say they come to town and then after leaving us for a years and now they want to tell the the way.lol now after sometime at powwows i see that they were saying so to put it strait i have learned i cant no put feathers in my hair or my daughters hair even tho we ask the hawks and owls for them.or we cant say what tribe be belong to because i don't know .all i know i was not white or that i felt white or that i believed in being white and i don't really look white , to white . so i follow something that i understood to be me. Hi 2 Line Glad you are here thanks for introducing yourself, one quick comment about wearing feathers, you can wear Turkey feathers or fake eagle or hawk, they will be selling them at any pow wow you just can't wear your rapture feathers to a pow wow without a BIA or CDIB card and having the feathers registered, the Fed. Parks & Wildlife has told us they will be at every pow wow in Texas and will confiscate all illegal feathers and can file or prosecute you. But dyed feathers, pheasant, guinea hen, goose and others make nice hair ties, I just finished a nice bronze Turkey Tail Feather hair tie. The Cherokee wear only 1 feather on the right if you are single and on the left if you are married. Let me know if you need help preparing them. Anyway I'm off the subject, welcome again to our family of friends, brothers and sisters!

Your gift was a very generous one! Owl feathers are considered on the illegal list but to give as a gift is a special honor to the recipient, they are especially good medicine for most people, many people fear owls because of the fact that they can bring a message of a death. However that is only is special circumstances, I have several stories about that but they are not for telling here. You did a great service to the young man you gifted the feather too. ;D It is also a special honor to have the owl living with you, he will help you gain wisdom and strength how wonderful for you AHO !!

I have some of real Great Hornet Owl feathers and kept them for 23 years. I knew that Great Hornet Owl is not a good sign but put them on the sides of frame with Great Hornet Owl photo and hang it on the wall is fine but don't wear it outside. I don't wanted to bury them, so I put them in the chest drawer in the back bedroom. Now I'm looking for a real Golden Eagle, Bald Eagle and Hawk feathers but I don't wear them outside because Feds or Game Warden can arrested me and pay fine alot of money! So If I get a Cherokee Nation card to prove that I am Native American then I can wear them at the powwows only. I'll tell the private property to watch over me from Feds, to protect me. I don't like Feds! Anyway, welcome to the board!
